30 Ways To Lace Shoes(1)
Whilst mathematics tells us that there are more than 2 Trillion ways of feeding a lace through the six pairs of eyelets on an average shoe, this section presents a (somewhat more realistic) typical cross-section of traditional and alternative lacing methods that I’ve either found or created or that have been sent to me by web site visitors. These tips are very useful, as well as to ugg boots. Because some ugg boots need to tie shoe laces, UGG Australia Adirondack II Boots 5469 – Otter is a good example.
These diagrams are all drawn as though looking from the front of the shoe, such that the lower part of the lacing is at the bottom of the diagram, and are colour-coded to make it easier to follow where the lace runs. Generally, the start of the lacing is Grey, while the lace end that starts on the left side is Blue and the end that starts on the right side is Yellow. For colour-blind visitors, Blue=Dark=Left, Yellow=Light=Right.
1.Criss Cross Lacing
Lacing Technique:
1. The lace is run straight across the bottom (grey section) and the ends emerge through both bottom eyelets.
2. The ends are crossed over each other, then fed under the sides to emerge through the next set of eyelets up the shoe.
3. Repeat step (2) until both ends reach the top eyelets.

NOTE:
Criss Cross is also a preferred lacing method for comfort, mainly because the crossovers of lace occur in the gap between the sides of the shoe and thus aren’t pressed against the foot.
2.Over Under Lacing
Lacing Technique 1 (for EVEN numbers of eyelet pairs):
1. The lace is run straight across the bottom (grey section) and the ends are fed in through both bottom eyelets.
2. The ends are crossed Under (on the inside) and emerge through the next set of eyelets up the shoe.
3. The ends are crossed Over (on the outside) and are fed in through the next set of eyelets up the shoe.
4. Repeat steps (2) and (3), alternating between crossing Under or crossing Over, until both ends reach the top eyelets.
Lacing Technique 2 (for ODD numbers of eyelet pairs):
1. The lace is run straight across the bottom (grey section) and the ends emerge through both bottom eyelets.
2. The ends are crossed Over (on the outside) and are fed in through the next set of eyelets up the shoe.
3. The ends are crossed Under (on the inside) and emerge through the next set of eyelets up the shoe.
4. Repeat steps (2) and (3), alternating between crossing Over or crossing Under, until both ends reach the top eyelets.
